Shh! It’s Dark Captain Light Captain

Dark Captain Light CaptainDark Captain Light Captain are kicking off the festival season early with a performance at the Shh! Festival of Quiet Music on Saturday 22 January 2011. The festival is at Cecil Sharp House in Camden.

The Walthamstow-based band play atmospheric indie folk and are well established. Their first album, ‘Miracle Kicker’, was one of the Guardian Top 50 albums of 2008. They have also toured Europe and beyond, with the single ‘Jealous Enemies’ being the iTunes Single of the Week in the USA. They are back in Summer 2011 with a new album and a tour.

The Shh! Festival features a range of other bands, including the rather lovely former Guardian Band of the Day Still Corners, and Stuart Braithwaite from 90s arty indie-types Mogwai.

Tickets for Shh! are £20 and are available here. More info on Dark Captain Light Captain can be found here. We’ll leave you with the deliciously chillaxed tune ‘Speak’ from their album ‘Miracle Kicker’. Enjoy this one.
